In 2023, the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit will host the MotoGP for the second time.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the government is now taking steps to be ready for the world-class MotoGP racing event that will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on the racing calendar for the year 2023.
“It is the second time for Indonesia to host the MotoGP event. Following her attendance at a restricted cabinet meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/04), Sandi made the following statement: "The race will be very interesting because at the end of the racing season the point gap between the top racers is very close."
To set the record straight, the Indonesian MotoGP will be the 15th series of the 2023 MotoGP. It will take place from October 13-15, 2023, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
The Minister said that the Mandalika MotoGP has a substantial economic effect of up to Rp3.5 trillion and that it will have support from the people as well as from President Joko Widodo.
Sandi claims that the President has issued an order to further develop new tourism sites, and that this order was given to both the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as well as the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.
In addition to this, Sandi stressed the significance of collaboration between all of the relevant parties in the process of building tourism attractions.
“We also hope that the institutions managing five super priority destinations can work hand in hand so that there will be more investment, in line with this year’s theme of World Tourism Day, namely Investment and Green Tourism,” he remarked.
